Right-click in open-space within the contour edit window and select the option Export Background Raster.Select the palette from contour view toolbar that you would like to see on your unit, or create a custom palette using the palette editor. If you are using a more recent Lowrance unit, such as an HDS or later, then you can use the coloured map background from the contour view as a background raster layer in the AT5 map. Make sure that your settings within ReefMaster match those that you would like to see on your unit before exporting the map.Ģ. Note that the exported map will use the units of depth that are currently configured within ReefMaster. Minor contours can be configured in the AT5 map such that they do not appear below a certain zoom level, so a contour view that may appear cluttered in ReefMaster might still make a very nice AT5 map. Make sure that the displayed contours are configured in the way that you would like to see them on your GPS unit. If you have not yet made a map project, you can create one using demo data by following this tutorial. ReefMaster makes the process of using the IMC as simple as possible very few steps are required within the IMC application to convert the ReefMaster generated files into a high quality AT5 map.Ĭreate a map project and open the map to the contour view. The Insight Map Creator (IMC) is a free tool, available for download from the Navico Insight Store, which processes a set of image and vector files into a format that can be used in Lowrance, Simrad and B&G GPS units. ReefMaster does not export AT5 maps directly, but creates a set of vector and raster files which must be processed by a second application, the Navico Insight Map Creator. Maps like the example below can be created very easily in ReefMaster, by exporting a raster background image from the contour view and combining this with contours exported using the Shapefile format option.ĪT5 map shown on a Lowrance HDS 10. In the example below, shown on an HDS 10 unit, a coloured raster background (exported using the Export Raster Background function in the map contour view) has been combined with vector layers for the major and minor contours and land. The AT5 format is able to combine vector layers, such as contour lines, with raster (image) layers. The AT5 map format is a Navico map format supported by a wide range of Lowrance, Simrad and B&G GPS devices, from the older LMS range right through to the most recent HDS touch.
